Description
LiFePO4 batteries are the safest lithium-ion batteries on the market. The nominal voltage of a LiFePO4 cell is 3.2V, unlike lead-acid batteries which have a 2V nominal voltage. Therefore, a 12.8V battery contains 4 cells connected in series, and a 25.6V battery contains 8 cells connected in series.
It is not necessary for a LiFePO4 battery to be fully charged. The lifespan of such a battery improves with partial charging compared to full charging, which is a significant advantage over lead-acid batteries.
Other advantages include wide temperature operating ranges, excellent cycle performance, low internal resistance, and high efficiency, reaching up to 92%.
Cell voltages, temperature, and error conditions can be monitored via Bluetooth, which is very useful for identifying potential issues such as cell imbalances.
